PlateWatch

Privacy policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

PlateWatch is an independent compliance monitoring tool for US electroplating and metal-finishing facilities. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to platewatch.io and getplatewatch.com.

What we collect

  • Email address. When you sign up for free alerts or buy a report or plan, we store your email so we can send the alerts and account messages you asked for.
  • Facility selections. The facility names you choose to watch, so we know what to alert you about.
  • Billing details. For paid purchases, payment is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive a confirmation and what you bought. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Basic usage data. Standard server logs, such as your IP address and the pages you request, kept for a short time to keep the service running and secure.

The compliance records shown in PlateWatch come from EPA ECHO, a public government database. That information is already public and is not personal information about you.

How we use it

  • To send the alerts, digests, and account messages you request.
  • To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
  • To take payment and deliver what you bought.
  • To respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We share limited data only with service providers that help us run PlateWatch, such as our email delivery, hosting, and payment providers, and only so they can perform that work. We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and analytics

PlateWatch does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we will use a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool that does not set cookies and does not track you across other sites, and we will update this page first. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, consistent with Texas law. We do not sell or share your personal information.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Access, correction, and deletion. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Contact us and we will respond.

Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. Residents of other states may have similar rights under their own laws.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal and accounting needs. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we are required to keep it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Children

PlateWatch is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let account holders know by email.
